IKE HAS MADE LANDFALL

Several of our 1st Response Coordinators and equipment are mobilized in the gulf coast area with more on their way, awaiting weather conditions to improve to allow entry into the disaster stricken areas of Texas and Louisiana following Hurricane Ike's arrival early this morning. As of now, our plans are to stage relief efforts working with several congregations in the Houston/Galveston, Texas areas. However we will post updates on the blog and website as soon as they are available.

Early reports show that thousands of houses have been flooded, many destroyed. Over 1 million are without power. Search and Rescue efforts are beginning due to over 100,000 staying behind and not heeding evacuation orders.

Many volunteers will be needed as well as funding. Please sign up to volunteer on our website, WE NEED YOU! http://www.churchesofchristdrt.org/

To help with MUCH NEEDED FUNDING: You may do so through our website or by postal mail.
